The 7th Annual Top 100 Awards Show officially ended on January 10th. The 3 day event attracted more than 1000 chefs and other members of the Chinese restaurant industry from around the world including the US, China, Canada, and Australia. This year’s Top 100 Awards Show was held at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport. The organizer of the event announced the award winning restaurants and also presented awards to leaders in the Chinese restaurant industry as well as rising stars. According to figures provided by the event organizer, there are approximately 40-50,000 Chinese restaurants in the US with sales totaling over 21 billion dollars a year. On an average day, Americans consume 2.5 million meals prepared in Chinese restaurants.
