Dear Mr. Yu:

I am deeply gratified by the invitation to join you in Las Vegas for the 5th Top 100 Chinese Restaurants Awards Ceremony. I am very sorry that I cannot attend such a significant and prestigious event. The National Restaurant Association commends your commitment to our industry and extends its warm congratulations to the winners you will honor, who contribute so much to the success of the U.S. culinary scene.

America has a rich history of embracing other cultures, and one of the great strengths of the restaurant industry’s 13.1 million employees lies in diversity. The growth of minority-owned restaurant fi rms continues to outpace the growth of the industry as a whole, and this is all the more noteworthy given the diffi cult economic conditions we face. As Americans continue to look for new and diverse ethnic cuisine options, your honorees are at the forefront of our nation’s dynamic restaurant community. The winners should be commended for their important contributions to this $558 billion industry.

The National Restaurant Association salutes all of the winners and Chinese Restaurant News for their continued commitment to our customers, superior food, and overall excellence. I extend my very best wishes for your continued prosperity.

Sincerely,
NRA
Dawn Sweeney
President and Chief Executive Officer
