A delicious lunch was served at the always elegant Shun Lee West in New York this week, where chef Martin Yan, chef Lee Anne Wong, Executive Chef, French Culinary Institute & Top Chef Season One Contestant; Betty Xie, Editor-in-Chief, Chinese Restaurant News, Chuck Hunt, Executive Vice President, New York State Restaurant Association; Paige Hall, President & CEO, AboutFace™; and Erica Bohm, Vice President & Director of Strategic Relationships, Healthy Dining, were on a panel discussing options for Chinese restaurants to showcase the healthy aspects of Chinese cuisine for New York diners, as the City becomes the first to ban trans fats.

Chinese Restaurant News organized the luncheon to announce this year's 4th annual Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in USA Awards Ceremony, co-hosted by chefs Martin Yan and Lee Anne Wong, which will take place on November 11th at 2:30pm at the Cultural Food New York, a two-day professional tradeshow showcasing Asian, Hispanic and Kosher food and beverages at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. The Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in USA Awards is a national event that highlights, cultivates, and preserves the best in Chinese cuisine standards and excellence.

The Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the USA Awards have joined with Chinese chefs, Chinese restaurateurs from across the nation to encourage Chinese restaurants nationwide to provide healthier dining options. In addition to cuisine and restaurant recognition, this year's competition has also added a Mystery Diner program. The winners are chosen from AboutFace's Mystery Diner program which makes anonymous visits and evaluations of each candidate restaurant, as well as from direct votes from diners and the public at large. In an effort to promote healthy dining in Chinese restaurants, the Nutrition-Friendly Menu category has also been added to the competition.

Supported by the National Restaurants Association, the Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the USA Awards is sponsored by Lee Kum Kee and Western Union, and has partnered with HealthDiningFinder.com.
