WAUKESHA - Preparing fresh entrees has made Golden Gate Restaurant a long-time favorite among Waukesha residents, and for the third year in a row it’s impressed judges at a national food competition, as well.
The restaurant, located at 1427 E. Racine Ave., was again given the Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in USA award this year.
The honor was presented last week at Cultural Food New York, a two-day trade show showcasing Asian, Hispanic and kosher foods.
While other factors, including the appearance of the restaurant, were factors in the competition, co-owner Paul Moy said the food was what really made it stand out.
"Everything here is cooked individually," he said. "Nothing is pre-made."
