Sichuan Restaurant Donates Portion of Proceeds to American Red Cross on June 3rd
Abilene, TX (May XX, 2008) – In response to the recent earthquake tragedy in Sichuan, Chinese Restaurant News issued a national appeal to all Chinese restaurants in an effort to raise funds for the earthquake aid. Sichuan Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant in Abilene, Texas, was among the first to respond to this appeal. On Tuesday, June 3, Sichuan Restaurant will donate a portion of their restaurant sales to the American Red Cross for the earthquake relief in China.
“Our restaurant bears the name of Sichuan and it is important for us to raise funds for this tragic disaster in China” said Byron Huang, Owner, Sichuan Restaurant. “One restaurant cannot make a change but if all 43,000 Chinese restaurant donate 100 dollars, that’s almost 4 million dollars we can raise together to help rebuild Sichuan and its schools.”
Beginning May 19 thru December 31, Chinese Restaurant News will be organizing fund-raising events at all participating restaurants and donating proceeds to the earthquake relief.
