Fremont, CA (January 6, 2009) – Chinese Restaurant News awarded Jimmy Zhao, owner of Lucky Garden 2 in Melbourne, Florida, with a Community Award of Excellence at the 5th Annual Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the USA Awards Show and Conference at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 5, 2009.
The Community Award of Excellence is given to a Chinese Restaurateur or organization in the Chinese restaurant industry that uses their culinary expertise and their business to give back to the community in a philanthropic manner. Jimmy Zhao was chosen as the recipient of this award for his charitable work following the devastating earthquake that struck Sichuan Province in China on May 12, 2008. In Sichuan at the time of the earthquake, Zhao not only joined in the local rescue efforts but he also organized a fundraiser dinner at his restaurant on the one month anniversary of the tragic event. The dinner raised over $7,000 which Zhao donated to help rebuild an elementary school in Sichuan.

2009年1月5日，第五届“中餐百佳”颁奖典礼在拉斯维加斯Rio All-Suite酒店隆重举行。会上，主办方《中餐通讯》将“百佳社区贡献奖”这一荣誉颁给了Lucky Garden 2东主Jimmy Zhao。该餐厅位于佛罗里达Melbourne。
“社区贡献奖”旨在表彰那些乐善好施、凭借自身能力向社会做出无私奉献的中餐馆老板或机构。Jimmy Zhao获得这一荣誉乃实至名归。2008年5月12日四川大地震爆发后，他毅然投入到当地的营救队伍行列。地震爆发一个月后，他在餐厅组织了义卖活动筹集善款，并把所筹集到的$7,000美元全部捐给了四川的一所小学，用于重建工作。
