Celebrity Chef Lee Ann Wong Joins Master Chef Martin Yan
to Reveal Final Top Rankings At Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Chinese restaurateurs from around the world will gather in Las Vegas on January 3-5, 2010 at the Venetian Hotel and Casino to attend the 6th Annual Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the USA Awards Show and Conference. Organized by Chinese Restaurant News, the Top 100 Awards Show is a national event that recognizes, cultivates and preserves the best in Chinese cuisine. Celebrity Chef Lee Ann Wong and Master Chef Martin Yan will reveal the final rankings on Sunday, January 3.

For the first time in its history, chefs from Mainland China, Taiwan and Canada will join U.S. chefs in the event. Leading chefs from the San Francisco Bay Area’s Asian Chefs Association, including Chef Lawrence Chu, Sr., Khai Duong, and special guest Chef Theresa Lin, will co-host the show, as well as lead the parade of approximately more than a dozen highly acclaimed chefs from around the world to formally open the dinner celebration.

Both international and U.S. chefs will take part in a Chinese culinary show of noodle pulling and fruit carving to highlight the finer side of Chinese cuisine.

“This year, we are thrilled to include more members of the International culinary community,” said Jan-Ie Low, chief producer of the show. “The Top 100 Chinese Restaurants Awards Show continues to set the highest standards for Chinese and Asian restaurants, as well as to recognize the industry’s continued evolution toward true culinary art and flair, equivalent to that attained by other gourmet food categories such as French and Italian.”

From suburban buffets to high-end restaurants, Chinese cuisine has become a fixture of the American daily dining scene. On an average day, Americans consume 2.5 million meals prepared in Chinese restaurants. Grossing more than $20 billion in annual sales with 45,000 Chinese eateries in the U.S., Chinese food has become as American as apple pie.

Another original for the show this year is the addition of the first-ever US-China Business Summit (ChineseBusinessSummit.com) being held in conjunction with the Top 100 Awards. The Summit will be the largest American-Chinese business assembly in history where thousands of minority business owners, entrepreneurs, delegates and government officials will convene to gather resources, network and discover opportunities to capitalize on a stronger relationship between the business communities of the two countries.
